Victims of Road Accident in Northern Uige Laid to Rest

Uige: The eight victims of the road accident that occurred on the EN 160, connecting the commune of Macocola (Milunga) to the municipal seat of Quimbele in northern Uige province, were laid to rest on Wednesday at the local cemetery. The burial ceremony was presided over by the local municipal administrator, Afonso Manuel, and saw the attendance of members of the municipal administration and relatives of the deceased.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the tragic accident took place on Saturday night when a bus, filled with passengers from Luanda, plunged into a large ravine in Kimalalo, approximately 20 kilometers from Quimbele's municipal seat. The incident resulted in the death of eight passengers and left 27 others injured.

Among the injured, 11 individuals who were in serious condition received treatment at the General Hospital of U­ge. They are now reported to be in a stable condition.
