Vida Pacífica: Govt announces conclusion of delivery of 1120 apartments

Luanda – Angolan government has said it concluded Tuesday the formal delivery of 1120 apartments located in Luanda’s Vida Pcífica housing project.

Several Youth Associations affiliated to the National Youth Council (CNJ) are among those who benefitted from the residences.

The conclusion of the process marks the full fulfillment of the promise made by Angolan President, João Lourenço, who in 2018 decided to allocate decent houses, built with public funds to artists, politicians, activists, musicians, sportspersons and writers.

The delivery of 10 buildings with apartments of typology T3 and T4 took them four years of waiting for the CNJ affiliated to receive the apartments.

According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Public Works, Urbanisation and Housing, the rehabilitation of the houses took a long time due to the high level of vandalism of the properties.

The ministerial department reiterates that all young people from any segment of the society continue to have the same guarantees and access opportunities to housing projects built with public funds.

Located in the urban district of Zango, Municipality of Viana, in Luanda Province, the Vida Pacífica is one of the housing projects that in 2020 was seized by the National Asset Recovery Service of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for being built with state funds and owned by a private entity.
