African Games: Angola Ranks Seventh in Medal Tally at African Youth Games

Luanda: Angola, the host country of the fourth African Youth Games, ranks seventh in the overall medal table with 15 medals (three gold, eight silver, and four bronze) after six days of competition in the provinces of Luanda and Bengo.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the ranking of the 15 best-placed countries among the 54 delegations is led by South Africa, which has won a total of 68 medals, comprising 30 gold, 23 silver, and 15 bronze. Following South Africa, Algeria and Tunisia have emerged strong contenders with Algeria securing 36 medals-16 gold, 10 silver, and 10 bronze-and Tunisia amassing 32 medals with seven gold, seven silver, and 18 bronze.

Apart from Angola, So Tom© and Pr­ncipe is the only other Portuguese-speaking country to make it onto the list, standing in 11th place with two gold medals. Meanwhile, Botswana occupies the last position among the top 15 countries, having won a single bronze medal.
