Angola Debuts in African Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Luanda: The Angolan National Jiu-Jitsu Team begins its participation Tuesday in the 10th edition of the African Championship, taking place until the 21st of this month in Tunisia, according to a federation statement accessed by ANGOP this Tuesday, in Luanda.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the delegation comprises two coaches, Pakissi Nginga and Joo Lasa, and includes 28 athletes of both sexes from three combat styles: Ne-Waza, Fight, and Duo System. For this endeavor, the Angolans aim to win the most medals and regain first place in the African ranking, in a qualifying event for the next World Championship in Las Vegas (USA).

The team composition in the three styles includes athletes such as Ruth da Cruz Escovalo, Luzia Ventura, Samuel Tusimba, Mimona Fl¡vio, Marcelina Caliqui, Dianvutu Bondeondo, Sivi Fran§ois, Marcelina Concei§o, Banino Kinanga, Nzuzi Mantiatima, Mayembo Deladance, Jos© Diongo, and Elloy Caiata. Completing the group are Daniel Nsango, Rosangela Ant³nio, Eucadia Gualdino, Otchivela Catanha, Joselaide Fragoso, C¡ssia Pinto, Alonso de Almeida, Erik Benson, H©lio Caio, Rºben de Carvalho, Lu­s Ant³nio, Aldo An­bal, Luciano Ant³nio, Inelton Cardoso, and Cipriano Fragoso.
