Abidjan: It is with deep sadness and great dismay that the Burkina Information Agency (AIB) learned, this Sunday, July 27, 2025, early in the evening via social networks, of the announcement of the death of Alino Faso, whose real name is Alain Christophe Traor©.
According to Burkina Information Agency, a widely circulated press release dated the same day and attributed to the prosecutor of the Republic of C´te d'Ivoire, revealed that the Burkinabe national died while in detention in this neighboring country.
However, neither the family of the deceased, nor the Burkina Faso embassy in Ivory Coast, nor even the Burkinabe government have been officially informed of this disappearance, which, to everyone's surprise, dates back to July 24 according to the same press release.
A reaction from the Burkinabe government is expected in the coming hours.
