Angola and Seychelles Sign Landmark Visa Waiver Agreement

Antananarivo: Angola and the Seychelles Islands have taken a significant step towards strengthening their diplomatic relationship by signing an Agreement on Mutual Exemption of Visas for diplomatic, official, and service passports. This pivotal agreement was formalized in a ceremony held at the Ivato Conference Center in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar. The signing was witnessed by Angola's Minister of Foreign Affairs, T©te Ant³nio, alongside the Prime Minister and Minister of Fisheries and Economy of the Seychelles, Jean-Fran§ois Ferrari.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the newly signed legal instrument aims to outline the general terms and conditions under which nationals holding diplomatic, official, and service passports from both countries can travel without visas. This initiative is geared towards encouraging the development of bilateral relations, thereby facilitating smoother movement for nationals between Angola and the Seychelles.

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Seychelles were officially established on November 7, 1986. Over the years, these relations have been fortified, with a keen focus on economic cooperation, enhanced connectivity, and collaborative participation in regional forums. The two nations have expressed a mutual interest in expanding their partnership into strategic areas such as tourism, aviation, and education, signaling a promising future for both countries.
