Angola and Ukraine Forge New Sports Development Partnership

Luanda:Angolan and Ukrainian officials convened in Luanda to establish new bilateral frameworks aimed at enhancing youth programs and improving athletic training across various sports.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Angolan Minister of Youth and Sports Rui Falcão met with Ukrainian Ambassador to Angola Andrii Kasianov to discuss collaborative frameworks and institutional exchange programs.

The discussions centered on expanding athletic programs, supporting youth initiatives, and implementing anti-doping and sports medicine protocols. Minister Falcão highlighted plans to increase national participation in several sports, including karate, mixed martial arts (MMA), boxing, football, swimming, and athletics. Ambassador Kasianov expressed Ukraine's full readiness to finalize a formal bilateral sports agreement, commending Angola's efforts in youth outreach.

The talks build on existing sports diplomacy between the two nations, with cooperation memoranda signed earlier this year between the national karate-do and mixed martial arts federations.
