Osaka: The Minister of State for Social Affairs, Maria do Rosário Bragança, reaffirmed Angola's commitment to enhancing its healthcare infrastructure during her address at Expo Osaka-Kansai in Japan. Highlighting the Angolan government's efforts, she spoke about the construction of health facilities across various care levels, the training of healthcare professionals, and the push for technological modernization in the sector. According to Angola Press News Agency, the Minister emphasized the government's investments aimed at creating a more equitable and robust health system capable of addressing both local and global health challenges. A key aspect of this strategy is the strong focus on health education as a preventive measure, promoting health literacy and empowering communities. Speaking on behalf of President Joo Lourenço, the Minister underscored the significance of education as a transformative force, with a particular emphasis on the education of young girls and the empowerment of women. These effo rts are deemed essential for building healthy and resilient societies. Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai, known as the world exhibition, spans six months and is the third such event hosted in Osaka, following Expo 70 and the 1990 Horticultural Expo. The exhibition resumes its traditional five-year cycle after the delay of Expo 2020. The main theme of Expo 2025 revolves around 'saving lives,' 'empowering lives,' and 'connecting lives,' and it gathers innovative ideas and technologies from countries, international organizations, companies, and civil society groups to contribute to sustainable development goals (SDGs).
