Luanda: At least 8,000 guests will attend the central ceremony of the 50th Anniversary of Angola National Independence on November 11, at the Republic Square, the Secretariat of State for Territory Administration, Teresa Quivienguele, announced Tuesday. The event, lasting three hours, will be the focal point of the celebrations, featuring two major segments.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the first segment will feature a civic parade with about six thousand participants representing various aspects of Angolan society, symbolizing culture, art, education, economy, industry, and the history of the nation over 50 years of independence. The second segment will include a display by various military branches, showcasing military technology with approximately four thousand participants from the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and the National Police (PN).
In addition to the central act, other activities are planned. An ecumenical service is scheduled for November 8, followed by a music-cultural show on November 10 in Luanda Bay, featuring a pyrotechnics display from 16:00 to midnight.
In a related announcement, Pedro Chissanga, director of cultural action at the Ministry of Culture, stated that a special edition of Carnival will take place on September 13 in the New Marginal.
