Angola Reaffirms Commitment to Improving Aviation Sector for Regional Integration

Luanda: The Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, Maritime and Port Affairs, Adilson Catala, reaffirmed on Wednesday Angola's commitment to improving the aviation sector for regional integration. Speaking at the Civil Aviation Forum, Catala highlighted the importance of the aviation sector as an essential pillar for Angola's economic development. According to Angola Press News Agency, Catala described aviation as one of the most dynamic sectors of the global economy, emphasizing its role as a bridge for trade and tourism, bringing people closer together. He noted that the future of the sector in Angola relies on modernizing infrastructure, training qualified personnel, and fostering innovation among new generations. Catala addressed the ongoing challenge of underrepresentation of women in the aviation sector, particularly in technical and operational roles. He underscored the need for equal opportunities, not only as a matter of social justice but also as a means to enhance competitiveness and adapt to tec hnological transformations. He also mentioned several initiatives promoted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) identified as crucial tools to ensure the sector continues to attract new talent and maintain a balance between diversity and inclusion. The forum, promoted by the National Civil Aviation Authority of Angola in partnership with companies in the Angolan civil aviation sector, aims to secure the future of civil aviation with a focus on inclusion and the new generation.
