Angolan Ambassador Participates in South Korea’s Armed Forces Day Celebration

Gyeryongdae:Angolan ambassador to South Korea, Sianga Abilio, represented his country at the official ceremony celebrating the 78th anniversary of the South Korean Armed Forces. The event took place in Gyeryongdae, approximately 100 miles south of Seoul.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the ceremony was presided over by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and was attended by government officials, military leaders, and members of the international diplomatic community.

In his keynote address, President Lee emphasized the importance of peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and advocated for the modernization and strengthening of South Korea's defense capabilities.

During the event, South Korea's Defense Minister showcased state-of-the-art military equipment and defense systems, including advanced missile technologies and next-generation military drones, to President Lee.

The ceremony also included an operational display by the Republic of Korea Air Force, featuring precision flight maneuvers and aerial demonstrations, as well as an awards presentation recognizing military personnel for their distinguished service.

Angolan officials highlighted that Ambassador Ab­lio's participation signifies Luanda's ongoing diplomatic engagement with South Korea and reflects a mutual interest in enhancing bilateral ties and institutional cooperation between the two countries.
