Angolan president arrives in Cabinda

Cabinda – Angolan head of state João Lourenço arrived in northern Cabinda province Thursday for a three-day visit aimed at assessing the level of socio-economic development in the region.

João Lourenço, who is accompanied by the first lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, was received by the provincial governor, Marcos Nhunga and by Executive officials.

In Cabinda, the president is expected to address the general state of the territory, as well as inaugurate the General Hospital of Cabinda.

He will also grant separate audiences to the representatives of civil society, including the church bodies, traditional authorities, young people and business people.

On Friday, the Angolan Head of State will unveil the Passenger Maritime Terminal, a key infrastructure aimed to ensure the local mobility.

On the same day, the statesman will visit an oil platform, under construction in the Malongo Field, where he will be received by the Board of Cabinda Gulf Oil Campany, a subsidiary of North American Chevron.

The president returns to Luanda on Saturday afternoon.
