Luanda: Angolan president Joo Louren§o on Thursday awarded the Medal of Honor to former US Presidents George Herbert Walker Bush and William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton, as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of National Independence. The ceremony took place in Luanda and was part of the 8th Awards Ceremony, which recognizes prominent personalities in the categories of Honor, Independence, and Peace and Development.
According to Angola Press News Agency, George Herbert Walker Bush, born on June 12, 1924, in Milton, Massachusetts, served as the 41st President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. Prior to his presidency, Bush held several significant roles, including ambassador to the UN, director of the CIA, and vice-president under Ronald Reagan from 1981 to 1989.
William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton, born on August 19, 1946, in Arkansas, was the 42nd President of the United States, serving two terms from 1993 to 2001. Before his presidency, Clinton was the governor of Arkansas. He is an alumnus of Georgetown University and Yale Law School, where he met his wife, Hillary Clinton.
