Angolan President Instructs Officials to Enhance National Standing

Luanda: President Joo Louren§o on Monday instructed sworn officials to work to "make the country great," both internally and externally. The president made the call during the swearing-in ceremony of Angola's ambassadors to Cape Verde, Italy, and Hungary, the permanent representative to the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP), the secretary of state for public administration, and the deputy governor of Cuanza Sul for the political, social, and economic sector.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Joo Louren§o reiterated the importance of spreading the name of the country in different areas. "Wherever you are, whether inside the country, in the case of the Secretary of State and the Deputy Governor, or outside the country, in the case of our ambassadors, you must work for the betterment of Angola," said the President.

The President swore in the Secretary of State for Public Administration of the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Domingos da Silva Filipe, and the Vice-Governor of Cuanza Sul for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, Clara Vieira Tavares.

Also sworn in were Agostinho Tavares da Silva Neto, Ambassador to Cape Verde; Evaristo Malheiros Dias da Silva, Permanent Representative of Angola to the CPLP; Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko, in Italy; and Margarida Rosa da Silva Izata, in Hungary.
