Armed Forces Street in Cabinda to Undergo Major Requalification

Cabinda: The transformation of Rua das Forças Armadas, also known as Armed Forces Street, into a modern avenue is set to be a key project for the Government of the Province of Cabinda in 2026. The announcement was made by the provincial governor, Suzana de Abreu, during a review of her department's annual activities. According to Angola Press News Agency, Governor de Abreu stated that the project is expected to commence in the first half of January, aiming to enhance the city's appeal and improve road circulation between the Maria Mambo Café airport roundabout and the Nissan pumps. This initiative is part of a broader plan to modernize the region's infrastructure. The governor also highlighted ongoing rehabilitation projects with significant social and economic impacts, covering 295 kilometers in various sections such as Mbaca/Yabi, Cabinda/Landana/Mongo, Conde/Miconje, Maloango/Zau-Sanda, and Massala/Quissoqui. In the housing sector, progress is being made on the first phase of a project to construct 3,0 00 homes out of a planned 12,000 in the municipalities of Cabinda, Cacongo, Buco-Zau, and Belize. Additionally, 120 apartments are under construction in Buco-Zau district. Governor de Abreu addressed advancements in education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, communication, energy, and water sectors. She emphasized that by 2026, the local government aims to complete several ongoing projects, including the Municipal Hospital of Belize. Plans also include building a General Hospital in Buco-Zau and two more hospitals in Tando-Zinze and Miconje districts. The announcement was made at a ceremony held at the Cabinda Government Palace, attended by provincial delegates, directors, municipal administrators, and representatives from security, defense, traditional, and religious sectors.
