Bengo: Caimaneros show solidarity with victims of Hurricane Ian

Caxito – About eleven tons of various products were collected Friday in Caxito, northern Bengo province, aimed to help the victims of hurricane Ian in Cuba, the Association of the Former Angolan Students in Cuba (Caimaneros) has said, adding that the move is part of the ongoing campaign to collect donations for Cuba.

Bengo inhabitants have massively joined campaign, which started on August 12, 2022.

More goods are expected to be collected, with stress to non-perishable food, clothing, hygiene products, according to Caimaneros delegate in Bengo province, Bernardo Paulino Adam

This is the retribution of solidarity that Angolan students trained in Cuba can make at a time when Cubans face difficulties arising from a natural disaster, he told Angop.

The provincial governor of Bengo, Maria Nelumba, who also joined the initiative, delivered several goods.

Nelumba asked the society to participate in the campaign, taking into account the existing brotherhood between Angolan and Cuban peoples, mainly based on the education and health sectors.

Hurricane Ian crossed Cuba at the end of September, affecting 3 million people, including 500,000 children and 700,000 elderly people
