Cabinda Governor Calls for Increased Effort Against Border Crimes

Cabinda: Cabinda Governor, Suzana de Abreu, called for intensified efforts to combat fuel smuggling, illegal immigration, and cybercrime, noting that these phenomena continue to pose challenges to the province's security. Speaking at the ceremony marking the 47th anniversary of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), the governor also urged relevant agencies to step up prevention and enforcement actions regarding crimes against minors, particularly girls and other vulnerable individuals.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Suzana de Abreu acknowledged the performance of the sector's various bodies in consolidating state authority, controlling borders, and fighting crime. She highlighted that the force's actions have contributed to enhanced security and greater public confidence.

Provincial MININT delegate and National Police commander in Cabinda, Commissioner Francisco Not­cia Baptista, pledged greater focus on combating domestic violence, drug and human trafficking, illegal immigration, and cross-border crimes. He also reaffirmed the force's commitment to personnel training and establishing the necessary conditions to ensure security for the upcoming general elections.

The Ministry of the Interior's 47th-anniversary celebrations were held under the theme "MININT 47 Years: Modernizing and Innovating with Institutional Excellence" and featured the presentation of certificates of merit and commendation to outstanding personnel and staff members retiring from service.
