Constitutional Court Judge Vitorino Hossi Dies

Luanda: Constitutional Court (TC) judge Vitorino Domingos Hossi died in Luanda on Wednesday, the institution said. In a statement received by ANGOP, the Constitutional Court did not disclose the cause of death, saying that, 'in the face of such a painful and irreparable loss, which mourns the Constitutional Court', a Funeral Coordination and Support Committee had been established to coordinate and prepare the funeral arrangements in consultation with the family.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the statement stressed that the Constitutional Court 'bows with profound respect before the memory of Vitorino Domingos Hossi, whose dedication to justice and to the Angolan constitutional cause will remain part of the legacy of this institution'. Vitorino Domingos Hossi was pursuing a doctorate in Strategy at the University of Lisbon and held a degree in Law from the Faculty of Human Sciences of the Catholic University of Lisbon. He held several public positions, notably that of Minister of Trade between 1997 and 2004.
