Cuando Cubango: President João Lourenço witnesses military exercises

Angolan head of State João Lourenço attended the drills conducted by military brigades belonging to the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) on Tuesday (09) in south-east Cuando Cubango province, as part of the annual training of troops.

João Lourenço attended the two-hour exercise held in the Soba Matias military polygon, in an area of 10,500 hectares.

Personnel belonging to the three branches of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) – Army, Air Force and Navy – took part in the exercises.

At the end of the manoeuvres, the President João Lourenço inspected the command post of the exercise, where details on the execution have been provided.

The maneuver is part of compliance with the directive of the President of the Republic and Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces, João Lourenço.

Also attended the exercises minister of National Defence and Veterans of the Fatherland João Ernesto dos Santos, general officers of the various defence and security bodies, government members, among other individuals.

The Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) were created on October 9, 1991.
