Ndalatando: The governor of Cuanza Norte, Joo Diogo Gaspar, urged national and foreign businesses to invest in the province to exploit the region's "great agricultural potential" during an event in Ndalatando. He emphasized agriculture as a significant asset of the province, citing its large expanses of arable land, favorable climate, and abundant water resources for large-scale production.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the governor also encouraged investment in the natural resource exploitation sector, highlighting the province's variety of ornamental rocks, sands, and other materials for construction and finishing work. Tourism, hospitality, and logistics were pointed out as promising areas for investment, given the strategic location of Cuanza Norte.
Joo Gaspar expressed his department's commitment to transforming Cuanza-Norte into a national benchmark for production, industrialization, and rural development. This transformation is to be achieved through a strong partnership with the private sector, focusing on developing family farming and stimulating industrialization through technological innovation and vocational training.
The governor reaffirmed the government's dedication to supporting youth through continuous training, skills development, and entrepreneurship support. He announced investments aimed at making Cuanza-Norte a key stopover for travelers from Luanda to Malanje and the eastern regions of the country.
The gala, held at the Alda Lara Cultural Center, marked the closing of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of Ndalatando's founding. It also honored individuals and institutions contributing to the province's development. Prizes were awarded at the event to winners of the 8th edition of the Cuanza-Norte Business Fair, which featured over 200 exhibitors from the province's 17 municipalities, other provinces, and China.
