El Kef: 60-year-old man injured in mine explosion

A sixty-year-old man was injured on Sunday in a mine explosion in El Kodia El Hamra, in Djebel Kmim, Touiref, Kef governorate. He was collecting cones of Aleppo pine.

National Guard spokesperson, Houssemeddine Jebabli, said the injured man, a native of the area, was taken to the regional hospital in Jendouba to receive the necessary treatment.

He added that the public prosecutor’s office at the Court of First Instance in Kef had asked the investigative brigade to initiate a judicial investigation into membership of an organisation, participation in a conspiracy to undermine the internal security of the state and attempted voluntary homicide.

Two mines had exploded in the same place in 2018. One person was injured as a result of the explosion of one of the two mines.
