Elections2022: SADC election observers arrive in Namibe

 

Moçâmedes – Twelve observers from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have been in south-west Namibe province since the early hours of Tuesday to monitor the voting process of general elections on Wednesday (24).

The information was released by the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE)’s spokesperson, Desidéria Ndakupapo, who told ANGOP that 30 other national election observers are also in the province.

Ndakupapo said that “the machine is all set” so that the 254,578 voters can cast their ballot papers with greater tranquility.

“We have, at this time, all the material prepared for the polling stations,” she assured.

There are 314 polling stations and 538 ballot tables for 254,578 registered voters in Namibe.

Roughly, 14.3 million voters including 22,560 residing abroad will cast their ballot papers.

Seven political parties and one coalition are running for the  upcoming general elections.

They are MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, APN, PHA and P-NJANGO and the CASA-CE coalition.
