Huambo: Tourists of various nationalities on Sunday (10) were delighted by the authentic flavors of Huambo Province's cuisine, marked by traditional dishes that celebrate the cultural identity of the Ovimbundu people. A delegation of 57 foreign tourists aboard one of the most luxurious trains in the world were enchanted and amazed by the hospitality of the Ovimbundu people, whom they consider communicative, smiling, and welcoming. According to Angola Press News Agency, among curiosities, myths, and stories, the tourists visited several significant sites such as Doctor António Agostinho Neto Square, the Garden of Culture, the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, the Cathedral, the tanks, the factory of the beer Cuca, and the Benguela Railway (CFB) workshop. These visits offered them a glimpse into the rich cultural tapestry of the region. Australian Leonie Marrison remarked on the cleanliness of the city of Huambo, noting the visible shine in the places they visited, in addition to the good cuisine. Philip Mellt t, also from Australia, praised Angolan cuisine, highlighting its wonderful use of fruit and the captivating traditional dances and customs. Mallon Malella acknowledged the economic progress in Angola, expressing appreciation for the local cuisine, particularly that of Luanda and Huambo provinces. The growing interest in Huambo's cultural and culinary offerings is evident in the hotel occupancy rate, which is currently around 100%. With a network of only 1,356 rooms, the accommodation capacity is already deemed insufficient due to the influx of domestic and international tourists.
