Over 400 Youths Gather at Pan-African Summit in Luanda

Luanda: Over 400 young individuals from 54 African nations are attending the Pan-African Youth Summit 2025, which began on Saturday in the Angolan capital, Luanda.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the event, led by the National Youth Council's Deputy-Chair, Sebastio Maur­cio, aims to facilitate the exchange of experiences and address pressing issues affecting the youth across Africa, such as unemployment.

Sebastio Maur­cio highlighted the summit's agenda, which includes discussions on various topics like Artificial Intelligence, data, and youth rights, exploring both opportunities and threats. He noted that the summit will feature a special event on the 12th to mark International Youth Day, underscoring the dedication of young Africans to the continent's development.

Maur­cio also emphasized the significance of Angola hosting the summit, as it provides a platform to showcase business opportunities and share successful policies benefiting young people with other countries. The event, which concludes on Tuesday, serves as a conduit for dialogue, innovation, and political engagement, fostering intergenerational solidarity.

The summit's objectives align with the African Union's Agenda 2063, emphasizing the continent's commitment to sustainable development and integration through the active involvement of its youth.
