Cunene: The Reverend Laureano Cacupa, of the Evangelical Synodical Church of Angola (IESA) in Cunene, appealed to the faithful this Tuesday to go to the One-Stop Shops for Public Service (BUAP) to update their Unofficial Electoral Register.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the reverend encouraged church members to be the first to provide proof of life, in a demonstration of responsible and exemplary citizenship. He stated that it is crucial for every citizen over 18 years of age to seek out the BUAP (Unified Voting Offices) as soon as possible to update their registration. This procedure is considered essential to guarantee the exercise of the right to vote and strengthen democracy in Angola.
He emphasized that the process allows eligible Angolan citizens to legally exercise their right to vote and choose the country's leaders, with a view to improving social conditions and the well-being of the population. "We are promoters of this action and, during our evangelization activities, we alert the faithful, families and communities in general to obey the authorities and the established laws," he stressed.
Laureano Cacupa reiterated the need to strengthen awareness and community mobilization efforts to improve family morality and restore moral and civic values, aiming to build a socially healthy society. The Unofficial Electoral Register is an automatic and continuous census process for Angolan citizens of legal age, based on the direct transfer of data from the Civil Identification Database, associated with the Identity Card, to the database of adult citizens.
