Huambo: The first secretary of the MPLA in Huambo province, Pereira Alfredo, highlighted on Wednesday the improvements made to the infrastructure, with particular emphasis on integrated works, water supply, and the expansion of the electricity grid.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the political leader was speaking at the 10th ordinary meeting of the MPLA Provincial Committee, which reviewed and approved the balance of activities carried out by the party and the provincial government between 2021 and 2026. He emphasized the significance of integrated infrastructure projects as one of the main actions in the province's municipalities, impacting urban and social conditions in the communities.
He pointed out the expansion of water supply and treatment systems, along with the extension of the electricity grid to various locations in the province. The leader also addressed initiatives in the education, health, employment, and housing sectors, along with support for families in vulnerable situations through Kwenda, which has reached urban areas.
In the political-party sphere, Pereira Alfredo advocated for enhancing the unity and cohesion of the MPLA structures, strengthening internal discipline, and mobilizing the population around the party leader and President of the Republic, Joo Louren§o. He noted that the MPLA in Huambo maintains regular activity in the province's 17 municipalities through initiatives such as "Red Saturdays," "Three More Members for Every Member," and "Where Is My Comrade?"
Regarding internal tasks, Alfredo stated that the process of registering members is underway, as part of the preparation for the 10th Ordinary Congress of the MPLA. He added that the party has been engaging national citizens for years regarding the database, issuance, and collection of Identity Cards.
