Luanda: The Innovative Competence Development Centre (CDCI) of the Telecommunications Institute (ITEL) is focused on technological development and the creation of technical solutions to meet the needs of the institution and its partners, the centre's coordinator, Delfina Silva, said on Thursday during the 17th Technological Innovation Fair (FITITEL 2026).
According to Angola Press News Agency, Silva stressed that the centre serves as a platform for student training, enabling participants to develop practical skills and contribute to the creation of technical and technological solutions. The centre operates as a platform dedicated to building students' competencies in various areas of technological development and includes a section for practical training and learning for students beginning their education in technology-related fields.
Delfina Silva explained that the centre features a project management module designed to ensure best practices are applied in the development of solutions. 'As we develop technical solutions, we must follow best practices in project development,' she said.
During the fair, the CDCI also presented its website, which serves as a tool for monitoring and managing the activities carried out by the centre. Silva highlighted the importance of FITITEL in engaging new students who arrive at the institute with interests and expectations related to technology.
The fair aims to attract the wider community, particularly students, at the beginning of the academic year. Silva emphasized the fair serves as a mechanism for student engagement and as an opportunity to connect local communities with initiatives in the technological field.
The 17th Technological Innovation Fair (FITITEL 2026) is being held under the theme 'Cybersecurity and Digital Trust in the Age of Artificial Intelligence' from 3 to 5 September at the Telecommunications Institute, bringing together young innovators, companies, institutions, and specialists in Information and Communication Technologies. Key topics include data protection, privacy, digital security, trust in the online environment, innovation, and technological entrepreneurship.
