Luanda:The President of the ruling MPLA, Joo Louren§o, is leading the 5th Ordinary Meeting of the party's Political Bureau on Wednesday to address issues concerning the party's internal affairs.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting is being conducted behind closed doors in preparation for MPLA's 9th Ordinary Congress, slated for December. This congress will include provincial conferences aimed at renewing the party's bodies.
The last ordinary meeting of the MPLA Political Bureau occurred on July 22, 2026, focusing on the party's internal dynamics and other political and organizational topics. The Politburo serves as MPLA's primary permanent leadership body, tasked with guiding the party's political direction and monitoring the implementation of its strategies, addressing political, organizational, economic, and social matters.
