Viana: A new shopping center named "Outlet Fashion Mall" recently opened in Viana, Luanda, is set to create approximately 6,000 jobs, both directly and indirectly. This development stems from a private investment exceeding $60 million.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the establishment's head, Ms. Nºria Figueiredo, stated that the facility comprises 85 shops inside and 45 outside, alongside various commercial areas, offices, and a hotel with 47 rooms. The project aims to enhance service offerings and attract more national and international visitors.
Ms. Figueiredo detailed that over 2,000 of the jobs will be direct, emphasizing the company's commitment to youth employability and local development. She noted that around 95% of the employees are young Angolans, highlighting the project's significant social impact.
The Chairman of Outlets Investment, Chinese businessman Jin, expressed the group's confidence in Angola's economic potential. He remarked that the investment targets job creation, particularly for young people.
Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, reiterated China's interest in investing in Angola across various economic sectors. He lauded the shopping center as a successful example of bilateral cooperation and encouraged other Chinese investors to explore similar opportunities.
Zhang Bin also commended the investor's vision and social responsibility, noting the project's positive influence on youth employment in Angola.
The Vice-Governor of Luanda for the Economic Sector, Jorge Augusto, emphasized the added social and economic value such investments bring to the province. The creation of job opportunities for young Angolans was highlighted as a key benefit in the context of local economic growth and diversification.
With the Outlet Fashion Mall opening, Viana strengthens its status as a leading commercial development hub in Luanda, solidifying its appeal as a prime destination for private investment and job creation.
