OMA Women Encouraged to Enhance Moral and Civic Education in Cunene

Ondjiva: The second provincial secretary of the MPLA in Cunene, Gon§alves Namueiya, appealed this Saturday, in Ondjiva, to the OMA militants to engage more in moral and civic education actions for citizens, aiming to safeguard the common good. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 5th extraordinary meeting of the OMA provincial committee, he condemned the acts of vandalism and rioting against public and private property that have been recorded in recent days across the country.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Namueiya emphasized the need for women to intensify their efforts within communities and surroundings to preserve human life and public property. He also called for the promotion of forums to address issues affecting young people, especially those influenced to commit acts violating the constitution and laws. Furthermore, the leader encouraged churches and civil society organizations to work towards ensuring the respect of values related to peace and human dignity.

The OMA secretary in Cunene, Vivªncia Ndalyewifa, announced the 10th Ordinary Provincial Assembly for Renewal of Mandates scheduled for December 6th of this year, with the participation of 591 delegates. The event aims to elect the new provincial secretary, analyze, discuss, and approve the 2020-2025 five-year report, outline the 2027-2031 activity plan, and elect the committee and candidates for the higher bodies.

Under the motto "Angolan women united to transform challenges into achievements," the meeting's sole purpose was to convene the 10th assembly.
