Luanda: Over 100 young people have registered with the provincial services of the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP) in Lunda Sul Province for the second phase of paid professional internships to help them enter the job market. Constantino António, the head of INEFOP's provincial services, shared details about the ongoing process. According to Angola Press News Agency, António mentioned that the interns are currently waiting for the Institute to evaluate which companies will accept them as interns. He has been collaborating with the Lunda-Sul branch of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE) to establish the requirements for accepting interns. Companies in the service industry, IT, accounting, culinary arts, and confectionery have been identified as the most prevalent sectors for these internships. António pointed out that out of the ten companies that applied to take on interns, only three have met the necessary requirements. The remaining companies need to make improve ments before being accepted. The primary requirements for a company to qualify include having a greater number of permanent employees than interns, complete documentation, and regularized Social Security and tax payments with the General Tax Administration (AGT). Antonio also noted the success of the first phase of the paid internship program in Lunda-Sul province, which benefited approximately 153 young people across various service areas. Remarkably, 60% of these interns were hired as permanent employees by the companies where they interned.
