President Kais Saied Thursday had a series of meetings with heads of state and government, on the sidelines of the opening of the Paris Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, including French President Emmanuel Macron.
He also met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva.
The Head of State discussed with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sissi a number of issues of common interest and items on the agenda.
Emphasis was laid on the solid ties of cooperation and “keenness to bolster them in economic and development areas to meet the interests of the two peoples.”
The President of the Republic said there is need to “embrace non-conventional approaches in building new world economic and financial relations that take into account current challenges across the globe or in developing countries, in particular, and respond to the aspirations of its peoples for dignified life in full respect of national sovereignty.”
