Luanda: Angolan President Joo Lourenço expressed his condolences on Monday to the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following the death of his father, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, which occurred on Sunday. According to Angola Press News Agency, in a message addressed to the Emir, the Head of State stated that he received the news with deep sadness and dismay, and offered condolences on behalf of the Angolan government, his family, and himself. In the publicly released letter, Joo Lourenço highlighted Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani's role in the struggle for independence and in Qatar's modernization process. The President noted that the former leader guided the country's destiny with firmness, determination, and courage, while also implementing reforms that set Qatar on a path of development. In the message, Joo Lourenço extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
