Rehabilitation of EN190 National Road to Finish in 2027


Luanda: The Minister of Public Works, Urban Planning and Housing, Carlos dos Santos, announced on Monday that the rehabilitation of the 183-kilometre Luau/Cazombo section of the EN190 national road in the province of Moxico-Leste is scheduled for completion in 2027. The announcement was made during President Joo Louren§o’s inspection visit to the rehabilitation works on National Roads 190 and 250.



According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister confirmed that the projects are progressing smoothly with a high level of physical completion. Dos Santos stated that the EN-19 project, budgeted at over 200 million dollars, has reached 50 percent of its completion, with more than 120 kilometres of the planned 183 kilometres already paved.



Dos Santos also clarified that the government plans to pave 600 kilometres of the EN-250 highway on the Luau/Luacano/Lumege/Luena/Munhango (Bi©) section. President Louren§o has been engaged in a demanding agenda in the Moxico-Leste province, gaining insights into various structural projects underway in the region, focusing on energy, roads, and the social sector.



The highlight of the President’s visit was the inauguration of the Luau photovoltaic power plant, which has a production capacity of 32.2 megawatts. Accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Louren§o, the Head of State is set to return to Luanda at the end of the day.
