This training is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the health system at the local level, emphasizing the need for ongoing investment in the training and development of traditional midwives, ensuring t heir full integration into public health policies. The official encouraged participants to view the training as an opportunity for personal and professional growth, reinforcing their role in society. He urged them to utilize the knowledge acquired to serve their communities, contributing to the safeguarding of life and the promotion of health. The designation of traditional midwives as facilitators of sexual and reproductive health underscores the recognition of their expanded role as educators, counselors, prevention agents, and promoters of healthy behaviors within communities. The training involves at least 50 traditional midwives from nine of the 11 municipalities in Zaire province.
