Luanda: A message from the President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), Brahim Ghali, was delivered to Angola's Head of State, Joo Lourenço, on Friday in Luanda. The message was handed over to the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça. According to Angola Press News Agency, the letter was delivered by Mohamed Yeslem Bayset, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, acting as a special envoy of the Sahrawi Head of State. Although the content of the message remains undisclosed, the initiative is part of the ongoing political dialogue between Angola and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic. The two nations have sustained relationships of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation for several decades, as highlighted in the press release. During the meeting, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs presented the candidacy of Ambassador Josefa Leonel Correia Sacko for the position of Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the Un ited Nations (FAO) to the head of Sahrawi diplomacy. The MIREX document notes that the candidacy was well-received by Mohamed Yeslem Bayset, who acknowledged the notable career and work of the Angolan diplomat during her time as Commissioner of the African Union for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment.
