Moxico leste: Queen Anabela Ngambo 'Nhakatolo', of the Luvale people, on Friday appealed to the population of Moxico Leste province to massively participate in the Electoral Registration Update and Proof of Life process, aiming to exercise their right to vote in the 2027 general elections.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Luvale sovereign praised the technological conditions created by the Government, which have allowed the process to be quick and efficient. She emphasized that civic duty should mobilize all citizens over 18 years of age, as it is fundamental in consolidating the country's democracy.
She mentioned that the royal court has been actively working to mobilize the population in all communities to participate in the process. Queen Nhakatolo also stressed the importance of continuing to create conditions for the issuance of Identity Cards in the nine municipalities to ensure greater participation in the unofficial electoral registration. The updating of the Queen's records was witnessed by the Minister of Territorial Administration, Daniel Neto, who is on a work trip to the province.
Today, the Minister is scheduled to visit several key locations, including the Single Public Service Desk (BUAP) in Cazombo, the Registry and Administrative Modernization office, and the provincial delegation of Justice and Human Rights.
In Moxico Leste, the process is currently underway in three of the nine municipalities, namely Cazombo, Luau, and Nana Candundo, in the first phase. The second phase will see the BUAPs in Cameia and Luacano become operational, followed by the municipalities of Caianda, L³vua do Zambeze, and Macondo.
The process in Moxico Leste will involve more than 150 operators. Nationally, the updating of the unofficial electoral register and proof of life is expected to cover approximately 16,707,455 citizens by May 2027. To facilitate this, the Ministry of Territorial Administration plans to gradually activate 634 One-Stop Public Service Counters (BUAP) across the country. In the first phase, 254 service points will be activated, covering all 21 provinces.
In this initial stage, 1,265 already trained brigade members will be mobilized, and the completion of the second phase of operator training is underway. The unofficial electoral registration is an automatic and continuous process for Angolan citizens of legal age, based on the direct transfer of data from the civil identification database (Identity Card) to the database of adult citizens.
