Luanda: The chairman of the National Youth Council (CNJ), Isaas Kalunga, stated that the Pan-African Youth Summit underscored the maturity and political leadership of the continent's youth, who are seeking greater involvement in the social and economic spheres.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Isaas Kalunga discussed the African Youth Summit held from the 9th to the 12th of the current month in Luanda. He emphasized that the event demonstrated the unity, awareness, and preparedness of African youth to address the continent's challenges. He highlighted the summit as a pivotal moment for reflecting on the role of youth in Africa's transformation, with the Luanda Declaration serving as a commitment by African youth leaders to influence public policy, promote peace, and drive sustainable development.
Kalunga described the summit as productive, with delegates showing responsibility in discussing key issues such as employability, innovation, economic inclusion, and regional cooperation. He mentioned that the declaration would be sent to African Heads of State, offering youth-driven contributions to more inclusive and effective policies. Among the recommendations is the strengthening of youth employment policies and advocating for greater youth involvement in national decision-making processes.
Kalunga also noted that the leadership displayed at the summit reflects a new generation of Africans ready to take on responsibilities in diplomacy, peace, security, and the economy. He expressed gratitude for the dedication of national youth leaders, whose participation ensured the success of the summit and reinforced Angola's commitment to African youth.
