Bissau: Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs Tete Ant³nio arrived on Wednesday in Bissau to attend the 33rd Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), scheduled for Thursday in Guinea-Bissau's capital city.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting brings together the Ministers of Foreign Affairs from the nine CPLP Member States. The main purpose is to assess progress in multilateral cooperation within the community and reinforce strategic commitments that support integration and development in Lusophone countries.
During the meeting, the ministers will discuss priority topics, including the consolidation of mobility among citizens of the Member States, the promotion and appreciation of the Portuguese language as an instrument of cohesion, and the deepening of economic, technical, and cultural cooperation.
The schedule also includes the analysis of peaceful questions linked to peace, security, and stability in the region, as well as follow-up on deliberations approved in previous summits.
The 33rd Ordinary Meeting of the CPLP Council of Ministers reaffirms the organization's commitment to the values of solidarity, democracy, sustainable development, and the strengthening of historical, cultural, and linguistic bonds that unite Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, Sao Tome and Principe, and Timor-Leste.
