Vice-President Highlights Agricultural Development to Achieve Food Sovereignty at FILDA 2025

Icolo and bengo: The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperan§a da Costa, emphasized the importance of developing Angola's agricultural products value chain to ensure the nation's food security and sovereignty during her visit to the 40th edition of the Angola International Fair (FILDA2025).

According to Angola Press News Agency, Esperan§a da Costa expressed satisfaction with the variety of national products showcased at the event, which aligns with the country's goal to diversify its economy. She noted a shift in the fair's dynamics, where exhibitors now establish industries locally rather than merely displaying finished products.

The Vice-President highlighted the significant participation of both national and international businesses, the advancement of technologies, and the opportunities for entrepreneurs to collaborate in fostering economic competitiveness. She emphasized the government's commitment to investing in youth training and capacity building, alongside providing credit support to enable young people to develop their businesses and contribute to economic growth.

Esperan§a da Costa also acknowledged the fair's focus on clean and renewable energies, aligning with Angola's environmental commitments and the global energy transition. She noted that the Angolan Development Bank (BDA) is offering financing products aimed at young entrepreneurs, facilitating the creation and expansion of their businesses to enhance economic productivity.

In her assessment, FILDA/2025 presents more opportunities compared to the previous year, with increased production and employment prospects for the youth. The event, themed "50 years, consolidating Angola's economic independence and integration in the world," aims to celebrate economic progress and unite the national business community.
