Vocational Training in Angola Surpasses Expectations with Over 182,000 Trainees

Luanda: At least 182,526 young people were trained in 2025 in various specialties by the National Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (INEFOP), a performance above the targets projected by the National Vocational Training System. The Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Dias, announced this Thursday in Luanda at the opening of the "Angola Human Capital Forum 2026," emphasizing that the result represents a 52% increase compared to the initial target set at 120,000 trainees.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the sector registered the insertion of 63,348 citizens into the labor market. The data presented also highlighted the impact of specific programs to promote self-employment, with more than eight thousand new entrepreneurs registered in 14 provinces of the country.

Teresa Dias highlighted the academic progress of the population, noting that, in the last decade, the percentage of adults with secondary education jumped from 30% to 59%, warning of the urgent need to connect theory to practice. "Academic training must be intrinsically linked to practical experience," the minister said.

The Training, Development and Employability Forum 2026 emerges as a strategic initiative of MAPTSS, through INEFOP, to strengthen public policies aimed at youth employability, professional qualification, and human capital development in Angola. The event runs from May 14 to 17 in Luanda, bringing together representatives of the Executive, business leaders, human resources specialists, young professionals, scholarship holders, and national and international companies.
