Academic Defends Angola’s Geographical Position.

Luanda: Portuguese academic and journalist Carlos Magno on Wednesday in Luanda defended Angola's geographical position in Africa and the world, promoting interdependence that results in mutual benefits, commitment, and shared responsibility between nations. The academic made the statement on the second day of the 3rd Methodological Meeting of the Executive's Institutional Communication, promoted by the Ministry of Information Telecommunications and Media (MINTTICS), as part of the Executive's National Institutional Communication Plan 2024/2027. According to Angola Press News Agency, the academic emphasized that implementing sustainable policies and strategies that leverage Angola's geographical position could lead to significant growth while maintaining cultural identity. He provided a summary of global political issues, such as the war between Russia and Ukraine and the elections in the US, noting that the world is moving towards an uncertain society due to various political and social situations globally. I n this context, Magno asserted that journalism should focus on verification, adhering strictly to facts, and that journalists should thrive on curiosity and interest, particularly in debunking fake news. Cristóvão António Bragança, the press attaché of the Angola embassy in Ethiopia, highlighted efforts to showcase the positive actions in Angola, especially the investment potential in agriculture and tourism. Bragança also commented on the methodological meeting, stating that new tools will enhance ongoing work, emphasizing the importance of continuous training to exchange ideas and perspectives on African and world politics. Amélia Conde, the press attaché of the Angolan Embassy in Turkey, expressed that the Executive's National Institutional Communication Plan 2024/2027 aims to provide necessary tools to improve Angola's image internationally and serve as a guide for local communities and citizens in showcasing the country's potential. The two-day event included various participants, such as press attaché s, provincial directors of Social Communication Offices, and Institutional Communication and Press Offices. The meeting, held under the motto 'Clarify more, communicate better,' addressed topics related to the Executive's National Institutional Communication Plan 2024-2027.
