Luanda: Issues related to increased cooperation between Angola and Gabon were analyzed Monday in Luanda, in the audience that the Head of State, Joo Louren§o, granted to the outgoing ambassador of that country, Guy Blaise Wezet. At the end of a nine-year mission to Angola, the Gabonese diplomat who bid farewell to the Angolan statesman, noted that the two governments will continue to work on strengthening cooperation relations, with particular emphasis on the economic and commercial domain, for the development of their respective peoples and countries.

According to Angola Press News Agency, Guy Blaise Wezet remarked on the stable political situation in Gabon following the recent presidential elections on the 12th of this month. The elections resulted in a decisive victory for Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, who secured 90.35% of the votes. Wezet's comments underscore the ongoing commitment of both nations to maintain and enhance their collaborative efforts.

Cooperation relations between Angola and Gabon have historically been marked by friendly ties, active diplomacy, and mutual interests in the African context, especially in the Central African sub-region. The two countries have maintained diplomatic relations since the post-independence years and both are members of the Community of Central African States (ECCAS), which strengthens regional cooperation.
