Angola and Serbia Forge New Path with Strategic Agreements

Belgrade: Angolan Foreign Minister T©te Ant³nio hailed President Joo Louren§o's three-day official visit to Serbia as a success, emphasizing the establishment of new cooperative foundations between the two nations. The visit, which concluded on Wednesday, saw the signing of 10 legal instruments, marking a significant step forward in bilateral relations.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the agreements span various sectors, including Transport, Finance, Environment, Industry and Commerce, Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments, AIPEX, and Information and Social Communication Technologies. These agreements are expected to bolster cooperation and open up new avenues for collaboration.

The visit featured fruitful discussions between President Joo Louren§o and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, with both leaders achieving their set goals. President Louren§o also engaged with Ana Brnabic, the leader of the National Assembly, during his visit.

Among the signed agreements were memoranda of understanding covering finance, transport, agriculture, postal services, export promotion, and reciprocal investment protection. President Louren§o advocated for a new phase in bilateral relations, focusing on enhancing economic cooperation and increasing private investment.

At the Angola-Serbia business roundtable, President Louren§o encouraged Serbian businesses, investors, and financial institutions to explore opportunities in Angola's diverse economic sectors. President Vucic expressed interest in establishing a direct air link between Belgrade and Luanda to boost trade, tourism, and investments.

The visit was also symbolized by the exchange of decorations between the two Heads of State. President Louren§o was awarded the Order of the Republic of Serbia for his role in enhancing friendly relations, while President Vucic received the Ant³nio Agostinho Neto Order, one of Angola's highest honors.

In Belgrade, President Louren§o paid respects by laying a wreath at the Ant³nio Agostinho Neto monument, visited the Serbian National Assembly, and attended an official dinner with President Vucic. The final day included visits to the Military Technical Institute of Serbia and the technology company Vlatacom, showcasing Serbia's defense and high-tech capabilities.
