Luanda: Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister T©te Ant³nio takes part in the 22nd Africa-Nordic Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. The meeting is being held under the theme "Innovating for Impact: Leveraging Technology and Collaboration for Future-Ready Societies."
According to Angola Press News Agency, the meeting was opened by Zimbabwe's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Amon Murwira. The high-level meeting will bring together Ministers of Foreign Affairs from across Africa, and the five Nordic countries-Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Its central themes include strengthening political and economic cooperation between African and Nordic countries, promoting cooperation in technology, innovation, and sustainable partnerships, and fostering trade and investment.
The program includes a space for interaction with innovative academic youth, an Africa-Nordic Business Forum, and plenary sessions dedicated to strengthening trade, investment, and cooperation on peace and security. The 22nd edition of the meeting aims to support multilateralism, promote global peace and security, stimulate private sector participation, and engage youth, academia, and innovation as factors for development.
In May 2024, T©te Ant³nio participated in the 21st meeting held in Copenhagen, Denmark, where he highlighted topics such as cooperation, food value chains, green transition, and youth. According to the statement, Angola is expected to continue strengthening cooperation with the Nordic countries in areas of strategic interest, such as the energy transition, digitalization, and technology, considered fundamental drivers for development.
The Meeting of Foreign Ministers of Africa and the Nordic Countries was established in 2001 as a forum for dialogue and cooperation on matters of mutual interest, held annually and with rotating headquarters between African and Nordic countries.
