Luanda: From January to April of this year, Angola registered transactions made via electronic invoicing valued at 28 trillion kwanzas, said José Leiria, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Tax Administration (AGT), on Wednesday in Luanda. Speaking at the 6th Conference on the Economy and the Market on Taxation, Leiria highlighted that the system currently has 46,000 companies registered for electronic invoicing, with approximately 400,000 invoices issued daily. According to Angola Press News Agency, despite the challenges, Leiria considers the implementation of electronic invoicing in the country to be successful and emphasized the need for more taxpayers to embrace electronic invoicing. Leiria reinforced that, according to Angolan legislation, all companies under the simplified and general regimes of Value Added Tax (VAT) must carry out electronic invoicing by December 31, 2026. This means that all companies with a turnover equal to or greater than 25 million kwanzas must take the necessary steps to be able to issue electronic invoices by December 31. "The recommendation is not to leave everything to the last minute. Companies that do not yet issue electronic invoices should begin transforming their procedures now so that they can carry out electronic invoicing before the aforementioned deadline," he said. The VI Economia e Mercado Conference addressed the topic 'Taxation and Electronic Invoicing: Between Obligation and Economic Transformation,' with the participation of sector entities, area specialists, and economic agents.
