Angola Red Cross and CISA Partner to Train Young Citizens in Social Responsibility

Luanda: An agreement for the training of young people in citizenship, rights, and duties, aimed at encouraging solidarity and volunteer actions, was signed on Saturday in Luanda between the Angolan Red Cross and the Cedars International School of Angola.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the initiative to train supportive citizens involves education for citizenship, including rights, duties, and democracy, and the practice of concrete actions such as volunteering and participation in social campaigns. The memorandum was signed by the Chairperson of the Angola Red Cross, Delfina Cumandala, and CISA's Executive Director, Imad Taha, at a charity gala hosted by the Angola Red Cross.

Imad Taha highlighted that the partnership allows CISA to support the creation of "Red Cross Clubs" in educational institutions throughout the country. These clubs will reinforce the role of schools as spaces for academic training and human and civic development. Taha emphasized the strategic importance of educating students for solidarity, service, and social responsibility as an investment in Angola's future.

With the support of CISA and the Red Cross, these clubs will enable students to apply classroom learning to initiatives that support vulnerable populations, promote health, respond to emergencies, and foster community spirit. Through these clubs, students will develop empathy, care, critical thinking, and conscious action in favor of their communities.

The agreement symbolizes more than institutional cooperation; it is a commitment to nurturing conscious, supportive, and active citizens, ready to serve Angola and the world with humanity, responsibility, and hope. The Angolan Red Cross focuses on disaster relief, health, family reunification, and youth volunteering, while CISA is dedicated to educational technology and the training of global leaders committed to environmental development and community engagement.
