Luanda: Angola strengthened its ties with Azerbaijan, Indonesia, and Armenia on Friday by signing five legal instruments as part of an intensive diplomatic agenda developed by Foreign Minister Téte António during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. According to Angola Press News Agency, the first agreement was with Azerbaijan, represented by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, regarding the mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and service passports. This agreement aims to encourage the development of bilateral relations by facilitating the movement of citizens of both states who hold valid passports in these categories. It allows them to enter, transit, remain, and leave the territory of the other party without a visa for up to 90 days every six months. Next, Angola and Indonesia signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint commission for bilateral cooperation. The memorandum, signed by Minister Téte António and his Indonesian counterpart Sugiono, aims to expand an d strengthen bilateral relations in a sustainable manner based on equality, mutual benefit, and respect for both countries' sovereignty. The Joint Commission will facilitate consultations and cooperation on bilateral, regional, and global issues, including political, economic, trade, cultural, and technical matters. Angola and Armenia signed two significant cooperation agreements. The first is a Memorandum of Understanding between their respective Ministries of Foreign Affairs on establishing a mechanism for political consultations. This agreement aims to strengthen friendship and cooperation, jointly safeguard international peace and security, and promote dialogue on bilateral, regional, and global issues. The second is an agreement on Cooperation in Diplomatic Training and Education between the Diplomatic Academy of Angola's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Diplomatic School. This agreement establishes the basis for regular contact and exchange regarding diplomatic tr aining under the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit.
