Luanda: The Ministry of Tourism signed eight memoranda of understanding on Friday with the White Crescent Group (WCG) and the NURU Group to accelerate the attraction of foreign investment, strengthen tourism infrastructure, and promote the sustainable development of tourist destinations in Angola.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the agreement signed with WCG focuses on promoting foreign direct investment and supporting the development of modern tourism infrastructure in the country. The cooperation foresees investments in hotels, resorts, eco-lodges, conference centers, and other structures linked to business and leisure tourism. It includes the construction and rehabilitation of tourism assets, the creation of cultural interpretation centers, the development of high-end restaurant concepts, as well as the implementation of technological solutions and hospitality training programs.
Furthermore, it aims to ensure local participation and the transfer of knowledge to Angolan professionals, while the partnership is expected to attract international capital and introduce modern technologies to the hospitality sector in Angola.
The memorandum signed with the NURU Group establishes a cooperation framework aimed at supporting the development of tourist destinations, defining strategies for the sector, attracting investment, and preparing structuring tourism projects. The parties will collaborate in areas such as tourism planning, structuring investment projects, destination transformation, territorial branding, improving the visitor experience, tourism governance, and institutional coordination.
It includes advice on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, tourism resilience and sustainability initiatives, as well as the implementation of pilot projects for the development of tourist destinations in the country.
The memoranda were signed in a ceremony witnessed by the Minister of Tourism, M¡rcio Daniel, the Director-General of INFOTUR, Allicia Santos, Raabal El Amine, representing WCG, and Osama Al Othman, representing the NURU Group. Memorandums were also signed with representatives from the Global Humane Society, Kashyap Choksi; the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), Randall Durband; Capital European Funds Advisory (CEFA), Attila Ujhelyi; FullSulate, Istv¡n Ujhelyi; HiSEAS International; and XUE Jing.
The signing of these memoranda is part of the Angolan government's efforts to diversify the national economy through tourism, strengthening its capacity to attract investment and enhance Angola's tourism potential in international markets.
