Angolan Journal of Sciences Achieves A3 Ranking in Brazil

Luanda: The scientific journal of Queen Njinga a Mbande University (URNM), known as the "Angolan Journal of Sciences," has been awarded an A3 classification by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) evaluation system in Brazil.

According to Angola Press News Agency, this classification is part of the CAPES Qualis system, which is designed to evaluate the quality of scientific production linked to postgraduate programs. The system assesses the impact, academic rigor, and relevance of scientific journals, articles, and other academic publications.

Within the Qualis system, scientific journals are categorized into quality strata ranging from A1, which represents the pinnacle of scientific excellence, to B5. The criteria for these classifications include editorial quality, methodological rigor, publication frequency, international visibility, and the academic impact of the research disseminated.

With the A3 rating, the Angolan Journal of Sciences solidifies its role as a vital medium for scientific dissemination, enhancing the visibility and appreciation of research conducted by teachers, researchers, and students both within Angola and in the global academic arena.
